A 9-Year-Old's Tribute to Fallen Deputies

Charlie's Motivation

Charlie, with a heart full of compassion, wanted to help the family of Deputy Diaz. Diaz, who had served with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office since 2004 and was part of the motor unit for over 10 years, was one of the three motorcycle deputies killed in a November 21 crash. His friend described him as a loving and joyful person dedicated to helping others. Despite putting up a fierce fight, the injuries were too severe.Charlie's mother, Christina Allsup, shared that Diaz's son goes to the same daycare as her little sister. This led them to come up with the idea of the lemonade and cookie stand to raise tuition money for the family. “We're trying to ease their burden as much as possible during this difficult time,” she said.

The Impact of the Stand

So far, Charlie's efforts have been remarkable. He has raised enough funds to cover at least four or five months of tuition and has also planned to donate electronics to Diaz's family. This small act of kindness has touched the hearts of many in the community.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday for Diaz and the other two deputies who lost their lives in the crash. Thousands are expected to attend, showing the deep respect and love for these fallen heroes.Waller, who served with distinction for over 18 years in the sheriff’s office's motor unit and started his law enforcement career with the Royal Palm Beach Police Department, will be remembered. Paez, with over 36 years of law enforcement experience and starting his career with the sheriff’s office in 1988 as a corrections deputy before serving as a motor deputy for more than 20 years, will also be honored. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has asked the public to consider making a donation to the Palm Beach County Police Benevolent Association Fund instead of sending flowers. This will directly support the families of the fallen deputies.Copyright 2024 WPTV via CNN Newsource. All rights reserved.
